Changdeokgung Palace

Back in April, Angela and I visited Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest of the five Joseon palaces remaining in Seoul. We recently decided to explore the second-largest, and the most well-preserved, of these palaces: Changdeokgung.

On the way we stopped off at the Paris Baguette in Anguk Station. This would be a pretty mundane occurrence were it not for the fact that this same Paris Baguette was exactly where Angela and I first met almost a year ago!

Though not as big and impressive as Gyeongbokgung, I found these palace grounds much more tranquil and well-placed within the surrounding trees and hills.

We also entered the grounds of Changgyeonggung, another one of the five royal palaces.

We sat down to read our books for a while.

Then the sun began to set, and it was time to leave the complex.

If you're interested in visiting Changdeokgung yourself, you can easily get there by taking the Seoul Metro to Anguk Station, and walking straight from Exit 3.
